Ione (She/Her) completed her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Vanderbilt University, and is pursuing licensure in the state of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She specializes in serving youth, adolescents, young adults, and parents who are facing a range of challenges, and has specific expertise in working with adolescents and their families experiencing externalizing behaviors, aggression, school disruptions, ADHD symptoms, verbal aggression, anxiety, Situational Mutism, and emotional dysregulation. Her most recent internship site provided her extensive experience with young adult clients who have experienced significant life events, traumatic experiences, or are feeling lost and confused trying to navigate the transition to adulthood.
Ione utilizes a person-centered approach, incorporating techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and humanistic beliefs to inspire growth and acceptance in those she works with. She has completed Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Experiences (SPACE) training, and has experience with Parent-Child Interaction Training. She approaches her clients with grace, patience, a healthy dose of humor, and an unwavering understanding that every person deserves to be heard.
